NahMean Episode 3: God and Hip Hop

This is interesting. Finally, something INTERESTING for the Hip Hop Community.

Me being me, I would like to add my two pennies. God and Hip Hop is alot more complex than what this 10 minutes of footage allows us to see. Hip hop was at its prime in the mid 80's throughout the 90's (In my opinion), and God was used by most of those MC's to refer to themselves. Of Course God MC (Hova) can't be called blasphemy because back then most rappers were affiliated with the 5 percent nation (Hov, Big Daddy Kane, Wu-Tang Clan). According to the 5 percent nation the black man was God. "It's the return of THE God, Peace, God".

It was only 10 minutes worth of footage, but I would love to see the project expanded and go more in depth. I would also love to see them ask a more diverse crowd of people about the topic. Older people, younger people, a priest or pastor (Somebody get Mason betha on the phone please) to see what they have to say.
