Our country's most profitable sport, the NFL, is in the beginning stage of a lockout. As of 3/11/11, the players have been officially locked out. The owners and players have yet to solve their labor issues even with a professional peer mediator. In the words of Gucci Mane, "Its all about the money". Owners want two billion off top of the nine billion that they have to divide up. To prove they deserve that much, the owners would have to show their accounting books, even though they are not willing to. Now, the feud will have to be resolved in court in which Judge Doty will decide what will happen. That is something the fans and players can be happy about. Judge Doty has been known to side with the players, so i believe that we will have football this season. Meanwhile, on the players side, some of the most noticeable stars like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees have filed lawsuits with the NFL. Its a shame these labor issues have shadowed the NCAA Men's conference tournament which has had great games all week, as well as, the NBA competing against the best teams. Hopefully, this doesn't spill over into he NCAA tournaments and NBA play-offs. Uconn Guard Kemba Walker did manage to make some noise despite NFL lockout. He hit a last second shot while breaking a seven footer down to the ground for the game winner. The NCAA tournament brackets will be filled out today tune in to my next blog to see who i have my money on.
